interested to look at, 2010-03-06
I bought this for my twin boys who are now 6 months. They love to look at it and grab it (when I dangle it by hand). I like the pictures and the fact i can alternate the pictures. The only downfall is that it doesnt spin. I wish it would spin that way it would keep them entertained longer. They would stare at it and lose interest until i spin it and they would look again. I wish i would of invested into a different mobile that spins on its own.
The perfect mobile for baby, 2010-03-04
I purchased this mobile for our brand new granddaughter. She was born two months premature and is now a healthy 3 months old. She loves this mobile and has begun to smile and coo when she is put under the mobile. My son enjoys changing out the graphic cards so the baby has something new to look at. I would recommend this mobile for any first time baby. They don't need the ones with lots of colors or sounds at this early age.
Great Mobile, 2010-01-30
We were looking for a pretty basic, visually stimulating mobile for our newborn. It was easy to assemble and hang. From 2 months+ he's loved staring at it. Sometimes I take it down during naptime bc/he likes staring at it so much!
Good for newborns, 2010-01-25
We got this mobile when our baby was just a few weeks old, and it was great for her. The simple, contrasting patterns really captured her attention. It's nice that the pieces are interchangeable - she is fascinated when we switch them. We have also taped the spare pieces to the walls by her changing table, and she really likes that, too.
The pieces come pre-assembled in T-shaped pairs, and those are fairly difficult to separate. However, it's possible, and putting the shapes onto the mobile isn't too bad.
Unfortunately, this mobile isn't very mobile, Not only is there no motor or crank, but the pieces hang simply by a hook, so there's nothing to allow for a 360-degree spin. The best you can do is give it a strong push and let it swing a bit. We used long twister-ties to increase the length and give it a little bit more room to swing.
Now that our baby is about 4 months old, we've noticed that she's not quite so interested in the simple shapes. She does, however, enjoy discovering them on her walls.
Baby's First Toy, 2010-01-24
My baby loved this mobile from about 2 through 4(?) months old. This and his b&w baby animal book were the first toys he interacted with. He would lay in his crib and kick his legs and make sounds of excitement looking at this mobile. We hung some of the extra cards on the wall next to his changing table and he loved to stare at them as well. Once he was about 5 months old we had to take the mobile and cards down since he was reaching for them all of the time.
