Worked Great for Me!, 2010-09-01
I followed the simple instructions, and am amazed at how easily I could move everything from one laptop to another. It moved all except the actual program files, which have to be reinstalled. I highly recommend!

Bought a new Asus laptop and needed to transfer data from old Windows Vista laptop. I carefully followed the instructions. It did a surprisingly good job. It even transfered my e-mail contacts. It is well worth the money for someone who is not a computer adept.

This product performed more actions in a couple of hours than it would take me to do in a month. It transferred images, documents and personal files from my CAD program. It appears to look for user generated files. All of my user accounts were sent over.
I hate it when my IT team gives me a new PC and tells me all my setting are there; when I go to Outlook or my browser, all of my quick fill fields are empty. Not with this product. Everything you want is sent.
50 GB in two hours. WOW!
Belkin Easy Transfer Cable - Fast & Easy, 2010-08-19
I knew it was time to migrate to a new computer but I was not sure of the best way to move the contents of my old computer. After looking into a variety of options, I decided to try the easy transfer cable. To be honest, I did not think it would work. But it did work and I was able to do it myself simply and easily. Though I own a number of websites, I consider myself technically challenged but this was truly a breeze.
My kudos have to start with the quick start guide. Unlike many instruction sheets that consist of illustrations with confusing arrows and hard to figure out directions, the Belkin manual is simple and easy to follow. Step by step pics and directions walk you through the process.
At the start of the process it will let you know if your computer is capable. You may need to download a service pack. Running Windows XP, my computer was ready to go. I installed the CD on the old computer, followed the directions, connected them via the USB ports and had a cool drink while the cable did all the work -easy breezy.
The Belkin Easy Transfer Cable transferred all the data to my new computer. I had already deleted many files I did not want and during the process waa able to select general items I wanted to transfer including photos and documents.
It worked! Within a half an hour the contents was transferred from my old machine to the new one. Due to copyright issues, certain types of programs and applications can not be transferred.
Very impressive and highly recommended.

Extremely easy to use, and transfers quickly. Note that if there are files on the original computer that are NOT wanted (such as viruses) on the "new" computer, it will still transfer those as well, so be certain the originating computer is "clean." Also, gleaning as much junk as possible before doing a transfer will help avoid the need to clean things up later. Overall, a great item that is worth the money. Prices vary widely, so shop around!
